Sublime sculptural glass bowl from Bohemia, an authentic work by the famous glassmaker Josef Hospodka for the prestigious Chřibská factory (Czechoslovakia, circa 1960). A centrepiece of Mid-Century Modern design, this organic bowl impresses with its presence and exceptional density (1.43 kg). The technical virtuosity is remarkable: the glass was blown into an optical mould to create these deep ribs, then skillfully stretched with hot tongs to form this majestic corolla. Its deeply organic design evokes the majestic blooming of an exotic flower, beautifully capturing the sculptural grace and fluidity of a wild orchid... The colour palette is a masterpiece: a spectacular gradient from vibrant magenta (cranberry) to a deep sapphire blue at its core. Submerged in a thick layer of very high-gloss clear glass, the colour captures and refracts light from all angles. High-quality artisanal craftsmanship is confirmed by its ground and polished flat base, showing slight micro-scratches from use that guarantee its vintage authenticity. In superb condition.
