Coffee table by Jens Quistgaard for Nissen Langå, 1950s.

Coffee table designed by Jens Quistgaard and produced in Denmark by Nissen Langå in the 1950s. Its top is the distinctive element of the piece: a teak frame surrounds a composition of fine bamboo elements arranged in a radial pattern, creating a graphic design that changes according to the viewpoint. The square shape with strongly rounded corners and the slightly raised edge reflect the characteristic vocabulary of Quistgaard's work. The contrast between the teak and bamboo gives the top a unique presence, while the four slender, tapered legs elevate the table 50 cm off the ground. Its compact proportions allow it to be used both as a coffee table and as a small side table next to an armchair. An iconic piece of Danish design from the 1950s, where the decorative work of the top fully contributes to the construction and design of the furniture.
