Very Rare Empire Half-Moon Shaped Library Buffet with Putti

Very rare Empire style half-moon-shaped mahogany sideboard with putti, circa 1880. Upper section opens with four glass doors with acid-etched decorations of ribboned wreaths. Central section in a niche with a mirrored back, topped with a beautiful colored marble top. Lower section opens with four doors and two drawers above a niche. Very abundant gilt bronze ornamentation: notably two very large putti in wreaths of foliage, flower friezes, and bouquets of roses. Very beautiful patina and excellent cabinetwork quality for this rare 19th-century piece of furniture. Note: small black stains on the wood, but unimportant as they appear to be an integral part of the wood. H244 X W184 X D60 cm.
