Pirkka stool original from Laukaan Puu based on a design by Ilmari Tapiovaara from the 1950s. This is an original Tapiovaara from that era and from Finland. A rare collectible item. The design combines rusticity and elegance. Rustic in materiality, elegant in finely crafted construction. A divided seat breaks the mass of the seat shell, making it lighter and less dominant. The medium opening serves as a practical handle. The contrast, the characteristic two-tone of the seat and frame, is particularly important. The frame consists of solid wood elements painted black, designed in a spindle shape and functionally connected. The stool is in good condition with occasional visible signs of wear and patina.
