Asymmetrical desk lamp by michael bang (1944-2013) for holmegaard, denmark, 1970s. This lamp painting is made of blown glass and combines different surface treatments (from a frosted glass effect to darker patterns). This foot is a deep blue, transparent (photos quite difficult to take but the effect of transparency of the glass is of great subtlety). Very nice state of conservation, the lamp works perfectly (original electricity), to note some micro scratches. The lampshade will be added. Dimension: 24 / 16 cm for 22 cm in height (not including the socket). Originally, michael bang was trained as a ceramist. After collaborating with the ekenas glassworks in sweden, glass work became his preferred means of expression. From 1968 he worked for kastrup and holmegaard as a designer. His mission was to infuse more artistic inspiration into productions. Michael bang also made a number of ornamental works, for example the sid school in svendborg or the united vinegar breweries building in copenhagen.
