Antoine BASTET in Lyon: Rare Louis XVI style bookcase, stamped. Entirely made of marquetry with geometric decorations, circa 1880. Front opening with 5 doors, 1 of which is glazed with a tapestry background and 2 with a faux-blind appearance. Abundant gilt bronze ornamentation. Original glass and wood shelving. Stamped in the wood, on the locks, and on a label on the back. Trending feet with gilt bronze surrounds. Extremely high-quality cabinetmaking for this majestic bookcase.
