Lamp model E1142 for ASEA by Sonja Katzin. Sonja Katzin, born on 19 May 1919 in Örebro, passed away on 11 August 2014 in Stockholm, was a Swedish sculptor and designer. Her work for ASEA combines her experience as a sculptor with a sensitivity to light and atmosphere. The E1142 model strikingly showcases this sensitivity. The base is shaped like a sculpted column, tapering upwards. The body features a mix of vertical and horizontal ribs, as well as geometric elements that draw the eye. The golden hue of the brass creates a warm and soft reflection that highlights the sculpted pattern by allowing light to bounce off the textural variation, thus introducing a sense of depth.
