Designed by Anders Pehrson for Ateljé Lyktan, the “Bumlingen” is one of the most recognisable Swedish lighting designs of the 1960s. The white lacquered metal shade features its characteristic rounded profile and houses two light sources, screened underneath by a concentric plastic grille that helps diffuse the light. Introduced in 1968, the “Bumlingen” series quickly became a success and was developed in numerous versions, sizes and colours, becoming one of the best-known expressions of the functional, Pop-influenced design language developed by Pehrson for Ateljé Lyktan.
