Magnificent Transition-style commode dating from the 1920s, a refined example of French Orientalism. This beautifully crafted piece combines Louis XV elegance with a fascination for Asian aesthetics, characteristic of the period. The furniture is distinguished by its remarkable marquetry in contrasting wood tones depicting Eastern pastoral scenes: tall pagodas, Asian figures in poetic gardens, and meticulously crafted exotic flora. The top surface features a splendid black marble veined with white, freshly restored, which gives the piece a timeless elegance. The three drawers and three doors on the front are enhanced with circular handles in gilded bronze, while the curved legs respect the harmonious proportions of the Louis XV style.
