Very beautiful secretary cabinet with a drop-down front made by the Majorelle Workshops in Nancy around 1910. This piece has a strong presence, entirely made of rosewood, which will bring warmth to your interior. Its elegant and perfectly mastered structure rests on a slightly curved base typical of the workshop's creations. The façade is organised around a central drop-down front adorned with a marquetry medallion featuring floral decoration, inlaid with small pearlescent details, characteristic of the ornamental vocabulary of the École de Nancy. The flap opens to reveal a niche with multiple compartments accompanied by two drawers, making the piece very functional. On either side, open compartments and two drawers add balance to the composition. The Majorelle Nancy stamp signature is affixed to the left side of the cabinet, dating its production to the early 20th century, which is the most accomplished period of the workshop. In very good overall condition, fully restored in our workshop, this piece is representative of this decorative language deeply rooted in the naturalistic aesthetic of French Art Nouveau.
