Small Painted Oak Dressing Table, Louis XV style – Late 18th century

This small oak dressing table, painted in fern green, opens at the waist with a drawer featuring the original lock, complete with a coat of arms entry and key. This waist, shaped, is adorned on all four sides with painted scrollwork. The top is also decorated with flowers, acanthus leaves, and a ewer embellished with foliage. This top opens with two side flaps, providing independent access to a storage space and a centrally positioned mirror. A single lock secures these last three elements. The whole piece rests on whip-shaped legs ending in bronze hooves. Due to its small dimensions and functionality, this dressing table will become the ideal companion for morning routines and well-being moments that we never indulge in enough. ******** Period: late 18th century.
