Large abstract oil painting by the swedish auction painter hans osswald (1919-1983). Painted by the artist in the 1960s. The painting is signed in the lower left corner. The painting is made in oil technique on canvas. The title of the painting is - "big sister tells a fairy tale for little mats". A perfect addition to mid-century modern or scandinavian modern interiors. Hans august osswald (29 august 1919 – 1983) was a swedish painter, draughtsman and printmaker. Osswald exhibited separately at louis hahne's art trade in stockholm in 1947, which was later followed by solo exhibitions in örebro and kalmar. He participated in group exhibitions with dalarnas konstförening and an abf exhibition in ludvika as well as in traveling exhibitions with graphics and sculpture as well as with konstfrämjandet. His art consists of abstract paintings with primitive patterns of fish and birds executed in drawings, color woodcuts or gouache. In addition to his own creation, he was active as a book illustrator. Osswald is represented at malmö museum and eskilstuna art museum.
