Aldo Londi for Bitossi - Rare Ashtray in Rimini Blu - 1960s

A square ceramic catchall/ashtray by Aldo Londi, from the Sahara collection. This particular piece was made by Bitossi Ceramiche as part of an advertising/corporate objects agreement with Gossi Assicurazzioni, whose name and phone number are printed on one side, confirming its production in the 1960s. The tray features a very deep "Rimini Blue" with some green hues, and has a beautiful sheen. The hand-sculpted patterns of lines, dots, and Xs on the dish create a mid-century modern brutalist aesthetic. This piece, in excellent vintage condition, will be a lovely addition to contemporary or classic decor.
