Terracotta jar pot rope decoration Goicoechea Basque Country

Very beautiful terracotta pot (clay) of artisanal manufacture, decorated with rope to obtain these very pretty reliefs, in the goicoechea workshop in ossès in the basque country (hollow stamp on the high rim). This workshop, which has existed since the 60s, still produces very beautiful pottery today, and always with the same ancestral methods (see their website). Their pots are frost resistant, which is why we can find such a terracotta pot still in such a beautiful condition twenty years after its manufacture: no cracks. Just a few small gaps or abrasions on the reliefs. And the patina of time that I chose to preserve: green, white, traces of lichens and mosses. I didn't clean it, just dusted it, but you can choose to brush it with soapy water, I think most of the stains will disappear. It has a hole underneath to let the excess water flow. It measures 18.5 cm in height, about 19 cm in maximum diameter, 15 cm in diameter at the high opening. It weighs about 2.2 kg.
