Black earthenware plate with a stylised fish design, typical of French decorative productions from the 1960s, in the spirit of regional Breton workshops such as Ty Breiz. The design, executed in clear reserve on a deep black background, is enhanced with solid areas of yellow, green, and red, in a free and expressive graphic style. This type of decoration, both naive and structured, fits into a highly sought-after aesthetic today, at the intersection of modernist influences and regional decorative traditions. The reverse features characteristic concentric rings as well as a "France" marking, elements found on certain semi-artisanal or published productions from this period. A particularly interesting piece for enthusiasts of Breton earthenware and decorative ceramics from the 1950s to 1970s, where stylistic correspondences with certain productions from southern workshops can be found, while maintaining a unique identity. In excellent vintage condition, with a beautiful shine to the glaze, slight discreet signs of use, and minor wear to the edge (see photos). Diameter 24cm. Expressive and graphic, ideal for contemporary decoration that blends artisanal heritage, organic patterns, and a reimagined mid-century aesthetic.
