Philips pendant light in frosted sky blue glass by Louis Kalff

This exquisite Dutch pendant from the mid-20th century features frosted glass and enamelled aluminium shades in light and dark blue tones. Designed by Louis Kalff for Philips in the Netherlands around 1956, it perfectly illustrates the purity of lines and the minimalist aesthetic of modernist design. Louis Kalff (1897-1976) was a visionary Dutch designer, recognised for his pioneering contributions to industrial design, particularly in the field of lighting and furniture.
