Large Art Nouveau wardrobe in solid oak (renovated)

Large two-door wardrobe from the Belle Époque period (1900–1910). Its patinated oak, naturalistic carvings, and bevelled mirrors make it a rare character piece, equally at home in a master house bedroom or a contemporary loft. A substantial and imposing piece, designed to last another century. Materials: solid oak. Features: the moulded arched pediment commands the whole with authority, adorned with a central sculpted motif in a bracket shape. Between the two doors runs a post decorated with an interlacing of branches and naturalistic leaves in high relief, an emblematic motif of French Art Nouveau. The lower panels of each door echo this vegetal vocabulary with sculpted cartouches of acanthus leaves and vine. The side posts are fluted, bringing a classical rigor that tempers the decorative exuberance. The doors are adorned with bevelled mirrors in a rounded cartouche shape. The wardrobe rests on two tapered turned feet. The spacious interior is equipped with three adjustable shelves. Renovation: new custom feet have been created for the wardrobe, which previously had none: the two front feet are from an old Art Nouveau wardrobe. The back of the wardrobe has also been reinforced, then sanded and washed. It has been left in natural wood. Dimensions: L134 X D44 X H206. Interior: L124.5 X D33 X H183.
