Ancient Berber water jar of the Moroccan rif, 36 cm

Authentic berber jar made in the moroccan rif, decorated from red iron oxides. The geometric patterns, traditional of rif pottery, are painted using a brush made of goat hair. The traces of flame cooking visible on the jar testify to its traditional method of manufacture in a "pit" oven. Note. Two splinters are to be noted, one on the collar, the other on a handle.
