Old Berber pottery in its original state from the late 19th or early 20th century. It comes from an old kasbah in the Rif, a mountainous region in northern Morocco. It is decorated with traditional geometric patterns painted with manganese (black) and iron oxides (red). These patterns are found on Beni carpets and date back to the Neolithic period: purity of form and simplicity of decoration. Unique collector's item ideal for adding an ethnic touch to your decor: natural colors and typically Berber designs. Perfect as a vase for dried flowers or as a decorative object. This jar is a utilitarian family heirloom and not pottery intended for tourists. Nothing to do with current reproductions. These containers are often kept in cool cellars and are sealed for long-term use as seasonal storage for all kinds of products: cereals, olive oil, figs, etc. Height: 26cm.
