Alexandrite glasses with color-changing properties, Sergio Asti.

Set of six vintage long drink glasses made of alexandrite glass, designed in Italy in the 1960s/1970s. Organic design with pinched and ergonomic indentations at the base. They are attributed to designer Sergio Asti for the famous glassworks Arnolfo di Cambio. Glass characteristic: Magical property (Neodymium effect): Alexandrite glass has a unique optical feature. It radically changes color depending on the light source: it appears lilac/purple under natural or incandescent light but transforms into a striking light blue/azure under fluorescent or white (cold LED) lighting. Design: a slender silhouette with a heavy, sculpturally worked base for ergonomic handling. Condition: very good condition, minimal signs of use, no cracks or chips. Dimensions: height 15cm, diameter 7cm.
