Square dish in thick earthenware by Hubaudière & Bousquet (HB) Quimper, mid-20th century. Its slightly curved shape, with softened corners, gives it a presence that is both graphic and warm, ideal for the table as well as for decorative use. The HB Quimper pottery, a historic house founded in 1708, is renowned for the quality of its hand-painted earthenware and for the refined evolution of its traditional designs throughout the 20th century. The decoration, entirely hand-painted, unfolds around a stylised central floral motif, framed by a rhythmic frieze combining green foliage, brown accents, and broad ochre-orange strokes. The earthenware, deliberately thick, offers a beautiful density and a soft glaze, marked by very slight roughness and small irregularities, signatures of authentic artisanal production. The reverse bears the handwritten stamp HB Quimper – Déposé, confirming its origin. In excellent vintage condition, with discreet signs of use mainly visible under the base and slight variations in the glaze, which is very shiny. Dimensions: 18.5 cm x 18.5 cm, height 2 cm. Ideal for a contemporary interior seeking authentic pieces, fully fitting into a chic holiday home aesthetic.
