Rare three-sided icon of the 19th century - mother of god, st. Nicholas. -the icon was made at the turn of the 19th century in germany, but the way it was made, with what care and thoroughness, can only indicate that the monks of one of the monasteries such work could only be done by the residents of the monasteries, who were distinguished by their hard work during monastic obediences. -color chromolithography, printing on paper, finishing varnish, wooden frame and decorated with plaster ornaments -complex fixation of transverse strips with wooden wedges. -as soon as you change your viewing angle by taking a few steps to the left or right, the image on the icon changes and you already see two other icons in turn (on the left or on the right), while the "main" icon the image becomes invisible. -the depth of the frame itself gives life to the icon, creating the impression of a three-dimensional image; in a word, the impression of perceiving a three-sided icon is absolutely incomparable with the impression of contemplating an ordinary "flat" icon, and each of you will be able to understand this only when the ancient icon is in your hands.
