Large antique painting of peonies, signed E. Jacque, late 19th to early 20th century.

Very beautiful large old oil painting on canvas depicting pink peonies in bloom and buds in a delicate naturalistic style close to botanical illustration. Signed at the bottom right E. Jacque, French work from the late 19th to early 20th century. The canvas is presented in its original wood and stucco frame, black and gold, fully restored, consolidated, repainted, and varnished; the reliefs still show some stabilized cracks that add character to the whole. Frame dimensions 64x40.5x3cm, canvas approximately 55x33cm. Very good overall condition, old black wood and stucco frame with gold decorations, completely restored: external mouldings redone by hand, slightly visible but clean and complete appearance, repainted and varnished, visible but stable stucco cracks. The varnish of the painting is slightly darkened but the canvas is clean.
