Vintage two-handled ceramic vase with a black exterior crossed by red and yellow triangles and a yellow interior. It is signed by gabriel fourmaintraux, a french ceramist, born on may 27, 1886 in desvres and died on march 16, 1984, who contributed to the development of desvres earthenware as well as its great renown. Gabriel fourmaintraux collaborated with the painter fernand léger, based in biot in the south of france. This association encouraged him to work in primary colors — red, white, yellow on a black or white background, as in this case. His monogram "gf" is found under the base, authenticating its origin. It is a prized collector's item, reflecting the know-how and innovation of gabriel fourmaintraux in the field of french ceramics. H 27.5 X w 13 X d 11 cm.
