Pair of decorative columns

Pair of antique columns in carved and painted wood, resting on moulded square bases. The fluted shafts are entirely decorated with relief floral and vegetal motifs, composed of flowers, foliage, and stylised clusters wrapped around the columns. The old polychromy in shades of blue, green, red, and natural wood has been preserved, with a beautiful patina of time. Their large size and sculpted work make them very architectural decorative elements that can be used in interior decoration, on either side of an entrance, in a conservatory, a living room, or as scenographic elements. Sold as a pair. Signs of use, wear, and old restorations are visible in places, consistent with the age of the pieces.
