Large vintage ceramic coffee pot from Saint-Amand – Bird and Gold decoration

Bring a poetic elegance and distinctly retro charm to your table with this large antique jug (coffee pot or teapot). With a scalloped shape and soft twisted ribs, it features a stunning repeated springtime decoration showcasing charming multicoloured exotic birds (shades of blue, pink, and yellow) perched among little flowers. The neck is highlighted by a delicate frieze of foliage in fine gold, a shiny trim that also enhances the curved reliefs of the spout, the scroll handle, and the lid knob. Underneath, the piece bears the black ink stamp of the "St Amandinoise" factory (Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, Northern France), depicting the famous bell tower of the abbey. It also includes the decoration number 8904 and the shape number 6. This is a beautiful production from the mid-20th century (1950s). Ideal for serving your hot drinks during Sunday brunches or repurposed on a vintage sideboard as a chic large vase for your floral arrangements. The bird decorations and the gilding on the handles and neck are beautifully preserved (very slight signs of use on the lid knob, see photos). No chips, cracks, or hairlines to report.
