The two Nuvola chairs are in excellent, like-new condition. The solid stainless steel frame harmonizes perfectly with the taut black polyester mesh of the seats and backrests. The mesh is finished with black leather straps at the corners. This model also includes matching leather seat cushions, which can be removed if desired. These, too, are in perfect condition. The design and the mix of materials create a superb seating experience. These chairs are more than just a piece of furniture; they are a statement piece in any room. Over 100 years ago, the Wilkhahn company was founded by Friedrich Hahne and Christian Wilkening as a chair factory. In 1946, contact was established with the Deutsche Werkstätten (German Workshops) and the designers Georg Leowald and Herbert Hirche, who worked in the Bauhaus tradition. Since then, Wilkhahn has been one of the leading manufacturers of premium office furniture. The architect Herbert Ohl designed these chairs for Wilkhahn in the 1980s and is known for his postmodern, airy, and flowing designs.
