Nepal – End of the 20th century. This so-called passage Nepalese rug is distinguished by a minimalist and refined composition, characteristic of contemporary productions from Nepal. The field, entirely uniform in a natural beige tone, highlights the texture of the wool and the simplicity of the weaving. The decoration focuses on a central square motif, composed of stylised and abstract shapes, treated in shades of grey and black. This graphic element, discreet yet assertive, deliberately breaks the neutrality of the background and gives the rug a distinctly modern identity, at the intersection of textile art and decorative design. Hand-knotted in wool, this rug illustrates the craftsmanship of Nepalese workshops, renowned for the quality of their pile and the finesse of their execution. Its elongated format makes it ideally suited for a hallway or transitional space, where it will bring elegance and simplicity. Dimensions: 270x72 cm. Condition: wear from use of the wool, light stains visible on the rug as well as on the fringes.
