Hand-knotted Tunisian Berber hallway rug, made of wool, in a long and narrow shape. The background is in an ecru to light beige colour. The decorative patterns are arranged at both ends of the rug and consist of traditional geometric shapes: diamonds and zigzag lines, created in muted tones of olive green, grey, and yellow. One end is finished with short fringes. The centre of the rug is intentionally plain, highlighting the simplicity and balance of the weaving. The whole reflects a Berber artisanal style, typical of hallway rugs used in traditional Tunisian homes. This rug was knotted by a Tunisian artisan in pure sheep wool in 2015. The knot count is 20/20, or 40,000 per m². The number of knots in a rug, a key indicator of its quality and fineness, varies from a few hundred to over a million per square metre.
