Rare and elegant footed dish in earthenware, made by the Outeiro Águeda workshop in the Águeda region of Portugal, renowned for its quality craftsmanship in the 1960s–70s. Hand-painted and dated 1972, it is signed A. Peirara (probably one of the decorators from the workshop). The decoration, in cobalt blue and chocolate tones, depicts a traditional folk scene, featuring a bird, fisherman, stream..., evoking the motifs of Portuguese azulejos and the decorative style of Coimbra. Very beautiful border with relief patterns. Mounted on three moulded feet, this dish is very slightly hollow and is suitable for both practical use and as a decorative centrepiece for presenting fruits, cheeses, or pastries, as a decorative element in a Mediterranean-inspired kitchen or dining room. Diameter 28 cm, height of feet 2.5 cm, total height 4.5 cm. In generally good condition, with slight signs of use consistent with its age. There are mini chips (see photos). An authentic and charming piece, a testament to Portuguese craftsmanship from the 1970s, ideal for a warm and vintage decor.
