Rare and elegant footed earthenware dish, made by the Outeiro Águeda workshop, in the Águeda region of Portugal, renowned for its quality craftsmanship in the 1960s and 1970s. Hand-painted and dated 1972, it is signed A. Peirara (probably one of the workshop's decorators). The decoration, in cobalt blue and chocolate tones, represents a traditional folk scene, theirs, bird, fisherman, stream..., evoking the motifs of Portuguese azulejos and the decorative style of Coimbra. Very beautiful border with relief motifs. Mounted on three molded feet, very slightly hollow, this dish is suitable for both practical use and decoration as a centerpiece to present fruit, cheese or pastries, as a decorative element in a Mediterranean-inspired kitchen or dining room. Diameter 28 cm, height of feet 2.5 cm, total height 4.5 cm. Good overall condition, with light signs of use consistent with its age. Mini chips (see photos) An authentic and charming piece, a testament to Portuguese know-how from the 70s, ideal for a warm and vintage decor.
