Rare Selene executive desk by ORA Acciaio, produced in Italy during the 1970s. Part of ORA Acciaio’s Selene office furniture series, the desk combines richly figured wood veneer with a slender metal framework. The large rectangular top appears to float above the structure, while two suspended drawer units provide five drawers in total. The contrasting materials and precise linear construction give the desk a distinctly architectural and modernist character. The reverse is fully finished in beautifully matched veneer, allowing the desk to be positioned freely within a room rather than only against a wall. The desk retains its original ORA Acciaio, Roma–Pomezia manufacturer’s label, and the Selene series is documented in period ORA Acciaio advertising and catalogues. Good vintage condition with age-related wear and traces of use consistent with its age. Keys are no longer available.
