Large silver plated champagne cooler bowl on pedestal with grape

A beautiful large silver plated champagne cooler with a classic pedestal base and richly embossed grapevine decoration. The raised relief of bunches of grapes and flowing vine leaves is one of the most loved designs used on French and European barware throughout the mid-century, inspired by traditional vineyard motifs and the celebration of wine. Its generous size makes it perfect for chilling several bottles of champagne or wine, while it also works wonderfully as a statement table centrepiece filled with fruit, flowers or seasonal displays. The softly aged silvered finish gives it warmth and character that newer pieces simply cannot match. This is an impressive, heavy piece with an elegant shape and wonderful detailing all the way around the bowl. Originally silver plated over brass, it has developed a beautiful natural patina over the years which highlights the relief decoration and gives it a timeless look. It remains in lovely vintage condition with light signs of age and use, including gentle surface wear, light rubbing to the silver plate and areas where the warm brass tone subtly shows through, all adding to its authentic charm.
