Authentic and large full-length portrait of a soldier from the 4th Tunisian Tirailleurs Regiment (Army of Africa) in his traditional parade uniform. A superb piece of colonial military history (militaria) with a magnificent visual presence. This is a hand-coloured photograph (art pastel gouache) with very careful details. Under glass. Signed and dated: C Farmetin 1932, Cannes. The soldier poses next to a studio stand marked "Tunisia" with the number 4, the crescent, and the star, the emblem of the regiment. Total dimensions: 65 cm in height and 55 cm in width. The frame is made of carved wood (moulded). Condition: Very good state of preservation.
