Condition: Very good condition. The upholstery shows slight signs of wear. Terje Ekstrøm was a Norwegian interior, industrial, and furniture designer. He initially trained as a carpenter and upholsterer before studying interior architecture and furniture design at the National Academy of Craft and Art Industry in Oslo. He belonged to a generation that challenged established concepts of Scandinavian design and sought to create new trends through innovative creations. The Ekstrøm chair, designed in 1984, is a perfect example of this. This seat resembles more of a sculpture than a chair. Its innovative design allows for a wide variety of sitting positions. The Ekstrøm chair is now a classic of postmodern design and has been produced almost unchanged since 1984.
