ADO Block Wagon Bouwmeester No. 117 is an exceptionally large and particularly rare wooden construction toy from the 1950s. This complete 123-piece model stands out for its size, colour scheme and original contents, and is both decorative and highly collectible. This block wagon by ADO (Arbeid Door Onvolwaardigen) is made of wood, plywood and metal and was produced in The Hague as part of a social employment initiative. The set consists of 123 parts: 103 blocks in various shapes and types of wood, 12 coloured wooden tiles and an 8-piece stacking cube (No. 142) in primary colours. The stacking cube and tiles were designed by Ko Verzuu, designer for ADO in the 1930s. The wagon features a swivel front axle, sheet metal wheels with rubber tyres and chrome hubcaps. Dimensions: 74 × 53 × 25 cm (W×D×H). Colours: natural wood, blue, red, orange, yellow, green, white, brown and black. The condition of this ADO block wagon is good, with normal signs of use consistent with age and play. The original colours have been preserved. The pull cord is missing, but can be replaced if desired. The price concerns only the 123-piece ADO block wagon with original contents. The other items shown (chair and rocking toy) are for scale illustration only. An exceptionally rare example.
