Breton vase in carved wood and brass, Brittany, France, 1960s

Beautiful carved wooden vase with brass inlaid decorations, made in the town of Ploumanach, Brittany, France, in the 1960s, originally sold as a souvenir from Brittany. Geometric and honeycomb sculptures, brass decorations, floral and with a very Art Deco pattern. A cylindrical metal receptacle is inserted in the centre of the wood for waterproofing. Lovely patina on the wood and brass, with some cracks in the wood that do not affect the overall sturdiness. Dimensions: H25 D11cm.
