Athenian Gueridon in Gilded Bronze with Ram Heads, Hoof Feet, and Plate

This Athenian guéridon features a circular marble breccia top in shades of red, gray, and cream, set in a gilded bronze rim. Three curved supports topped with ram heads holding movable rings support the top, converging towards a central shaft with a fluted ring. The tripodal base, adorned with a chiselled rosette and palmettes, ends with hoofed feet — a direct reference to the antique repertoire. This neoclassical vocabulary — rams, hooves, Athenian — refers to the productions of the House of Charles, a famous Parisian art bronze house; the style designation here invites a cautious stylistic connection, as the work from the 1970s remains of beautiful quality in casting and chiselling. Condition report: Overall good condition. Bronze with a homogeneous patina, healthy marble with contrasting veins. A sculptural guéridon of elegant height, perfect for holding a lamp, a bust, or a bouquet in an entryway or living room.
