Designed in the late 1960s, the Esfera lounge chairs by Brazilian designer Ricardo Fasanello are among the most iconic examples of Space Age–influenced modern design. Created as immersive, spherical seating, the chairs feature enveloping fiberglass shells and smooth silhouettes, balancing sculptural impact with comfort. Resting on circular swivel bases, the chairs allow gentle rotation and have a strong architectural presence. The shells are made of molded fiberglass with a warm-toned finish and have interior cushions upholstered in soft, light-toned leather. Fasanello, a pioneer in experimental materials, explored fiberglass and synthetic resins during this period, making the Esfera a landmark of Brazilian modernism. Examples of this model are held in major institutional collections. This set is offered as a pair, providing a rare opportunity to acquire an iconic and highly collectible design.
