Henri Rivière, Color Lithograph, The Setting Sun

Original lithograph in 12 colors on wove paper, signed and monogrammed in red in the lower left corner of the plate. Titled "Sunset – The Magic of the Hours, " it is plate no. 2 and belongs to a series of 16 lithographs, each printed in 12 colors, published by Eugène Verneau in 1901 in an edition of 1, 000. Source: BnF: "Henri Rivière, between Impressionism and Japonism" (p. 155). It is framed and under glass. The Japanese-style frame is made of wood imitating bamboo. Note a crease in the lower left corner and some yellowing. Dimensions: Height 34 cm X Length 71 cm X Thickness 1 cm.
