Large oval dish in porcelain from Vierzon — Hache & Pépin-Lehalleur, 1878. Historical service piece in fine porcelain from Vierzon, stamped by the famous Hache and Pépin-Lehalleur factory. This dish showcases craftsmanship that was awarded at the 1878 Exposition Universelle in Paris. It features a superb naturalistic decoration combining a rural flora and painted insects, typical of the late 19th century. The reverse bears the factory stamp as well as the model number 401 engraved in relief by hand. Condition: Beautiful aesthetic condition for display or on a table. Patina of use on the gilding. A small chip is noted under the base (non-penetrating, will not propagate further, completely invisible when displayed). A classic of French table arts, perfect for a chic country decoration or a high-period table.
