This very large opaline, with a highly pure oval shape, was designed by Pier Giacomo and Achille Castiglioni for the Italian publisher Flos in the 1970s. It provides both ambient lighting through its globe containing three bulbs and downward light thanks to its chrome deflector equipped with a silver bulb. The lamp appears to be levitating due to its clever suspension: it hangs from the ceiling by a thin, almost invisible steel cable, and the freely hanging electrical wire creates an effect of flexibility and lightness that has influenced contemporary designs. Flos stamp on the globe's attachment. Featured in the Flos 1980 catalogue (see photos). An iconic creation that can adapt to high ceilings, with the cable adjustable up to 1.5m (please consult us for greater heights). The entire piece is in perfect condition, with the chrome deflector like new and the opaline without defects. Four new E27 LED bulbs are provided, including one with a chrome cap. Diameter 60cm, height of the globe 35cm.
