Set of 4 soup plates, Wild-Flower model Collaboration between Gien and Enoch Wedgwood. A story of porcelain and European elegance: in the 1980s, the discreet but precious meeting between Gien, emblem of French earthenware since 1821, and Enoch Wedgwood (Tunstall), heir to the English ceramic tradition founded in 1835, gave birth to a rare decoration: "Wild-Flower". On these four soup plates in fine earthenware with slightly scalloped edges, a delightful indigo blue floral motif – straight out of a romantic herbarium – runs delicately across a cream background. The design evokes country bouquets, summer garden tables, the soul of a French cottage. Stamped Gien (France) and Enoch Wedgwood (UK) Diameter 21.5 cm, height 3.5 cm. Very nice vintage condition, bright earthenware, no chips or cracks, some micro scratches from use, one of the plates has its pattern a little paler than the other three. These rare pieces are ideal for a rustic chic table, a floral wall decoration or a collection of plates with stories. To collect or to divert with charm.
