Large oil on canvas signed Reine Cimière - Salon de Paris 1964

Large oil on canvas signed by Reine Cimière (1914-1984), a French painter and lithographer whose works are held in the collections of the Carnavalet Museum and the Louvre Museum. This composition depicts a peaceful woodland landscape crossed by a stream, where the reflections of light blend with the tree trunks in a soft and luminous atmosphere. The brushwork is free, sensitive, and of beautiful pictorial quality. The artwork is presented in its magnificent antique gilded wooden frame, richly carved with rococo and leafy motifs, which gives it a remarkable presence. The reverse is particularly interesting: it features a label with Reine Cimière's name, mentioning her Parisian address (11 avenue Jules Janin, Paris XVI), the deposit of two paintings, the number 926, as well as an old label showing the mentions "Salon" and "1964", suggesting a presentation at a Parisian Salon that year. The frame also bears the stamp of a Parisian framer, Galerie Guillet.
