Portieux photophore cigar holder antique opaline turquoise blue gothic

This antique cigar holder is made of blue opaline. This "fairground opaline" was a cup for holding cigars and cigarettes. Adorned with a pearl decoration, it is the "gothic" model, notably present in the 1914 portieux catalog. Dating from the end of the 19th century or the very beginning of the 20th century, these pressed-molded glass opalines were sold at fairs or popular markets. Pocket emptier, cigarette holder, ring sizer, cup, glass, small bulbous vase, it can be found for different uses... In good general condition, I note small chips on the edge, as well as firing defects: fine lines inside and marbling in the color. Signed portieux, it measures 7 cm in diameter X 11 cm in height.
