Vintage Oak Tambour Cabinet / Secretary - Mid-Century Modern - Germany 1960

Stunning and mechanically ingenious mid-century tambour cabinet, a prime example of high-quality German office design. The sleek architectural casing and the oak tambour door slats are finished in a warm oak veneer, which beautifully contrasts with the aged birch interior. What sets this archival piece apart is its sophisticated mechanism: turning the top key automatically rolls the upper door up smoothly, while the bottom door drops down with a controlled braking system. The letter organizer section is present, and the missing shelves have been expertly custom-crafted from high-quality birch plywood with veneer edging, perfectly stained to match the vintage internal patina. Already fully treated and ready for use, this highly functional piece makes a strong architectural statement in any Mid-Century, Japandi, or contemporary interior. This vintage tambour cabinet is in a well-loved vintage condition with visible signs of wear and character consistent with its age. Any specific flaws or wear are documented in the photos or description.
