Gertrude Bret. Sculptor born in England, Hampstead in 1904, died in France in 1995. Wife of Paul Bret (1902-1956), painter. She exhibited at the National Fine Arts in 1935 (bust of a young girl) and 1936 (nude). Three boxes of old photographs of her works are kept at the Kandinsky Library in Beaubourg. This plaster sculpture, titled 'Seated Woman', dates from the 1900s. Art Deco style. Very good condition — this vintage/antique item has no defects, but may show slight signs of use. Light wear and patina consistent with age and use. Product made in France.
