A cylindrical vase from the 1970s, designed by Lucyna Pijaczewska, is an example of Polish artistic glass from the postmodern era. The vessel's form remains minimalist: a tall cylinder with a slightly flared, distinctive rim. The entire piece is made of coloured glass with a smooth, glossy surface. The dominant colour scheme is a saturated red that smoothly transitions to orange at the upper edge, creating an ombre effect. Two rounded, horizontal rings about one-third up the height emphasise the sculptural silhouette and add a subtle, geometric detail to the composition. The vase shows no signs of damage or wear – it is in very good condition. In this glass form, one can hear the voice of a turning decade, when Polish artistic glass began to boldly draw inspiration from Western European postmodernism. The colour melts smoothly in successive layers of light – as if the vase itself wanted to tell a story about the dynamics of the 1970s, where simplicity met a bold colour gesture. The rounded rings bring a rhythmic accent, and the colour gradient evokes both the designer's sketches and the search for new ways of self-expression in glass. This vase can be paired with a sideboard from the 1960s or 1970s, where the warm shade of wood will enhance the juiciness of the red glass. It also works well as a single piece in a minimalist interior, where it will become the dominant element of the composition – whether placed on a console or among other vessels in contrasting shades. It is worth combining it with ceramics or silver details to emphasise the modern character of the object, or with a set of plants with broad, geometric leaves that will softly reflect light from the glossy glass surface.
