Rare Umbrella Stand by Shiro Kuramata for Pastoe, 1986

A rare design classic: A Postmodern umbrella stand designed by Shiro Kuramata for Pastoe in 1986. In a design typical of the period it demonstrates a successful combination of art and functionality. It has all metal construction - A chromed steel tubular ring with a weighted metal matte black base. The Dutch company Pastoe only produced this model for two years and not many were manufactured during that period. Overall in good condition. Some minor scuff marks as would be expected. No dents to the base.
