A striking fruit bowl or centrepiece in ceramic from Vallauris by Charles Cart for his famous Émaux des Glaciers series, featuring the artist's signature "fat lava" glaze in bright turquoise on a deep black background. This sculptural bowl was produced at Cart's Le Cyclope workshop in Annecy, France. Charles Cart established the pottery in 1948 and registered the Le Cyclope brand in 1963. Renowned for his innovative glazing techniques, he developed a distinctive textured "fat lava" finish in which bubbles formed in the outer glaze during firing, creating crater-like surfaces that reveal darker layers beneath. The Émaux des Glaciers collection is distinguished by its dramatic interplay of turquoise, cobalt blue, and black, giving each piece remarkable depth and texture. With its organic shape and richly tactile volcanic glaze, this bowl serves equally well as a decorative centrepiece or a fruit bowl. Dimensions: Diameter: 10.24 in (26 cm) Height: 3.54 in (9 cm) Condition: Excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
